BCBeijum attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data (and to respecting your privacy). In this privacy statement we want to provide clear and transparent information about (which data we collect and) how we handle personal data. We do everything we can to safeguard your privacy and therefore handle personal data with care. BCBeijum always complies with applicable laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Among other things, this means that we:

  • process your personal data in line with the purpose for which they were provided; these purposes and the type of personal data are described in this Privacy Statement;
  • limit the processing of your personal data to only those data that are minimally necessary for the purposes for which they are processed;
  • ask for your explicit consent when we need it to process your personal data;
  • have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures so that the security of your personal data is assured;
  • do not pass on personal data to other parties, unless this is necessary for carrying out the purposes for which they were provided (e.g. the Sports Federation);
  • are aware of your rights regarding your personal data — we want to point these out to you and respect them.

As BCBeijum, we are responsible for the processing of your personal data. If, after reading our privacy statement — or in a more general sense — you have questions about this or wish to contact us, you can do so via info@bcbeijum.nl.

Our website

  • Uses only functional cookies that are necessary for the technical operation of the site
  • All analytics features within WordPress and at our hosting provider (TransIP) are disabled
  • We do not collect browsing behaviour from our visitors
  • Our website is hosted by TransIP. The servers are located in the Netherlands and comply with all relevant laws and regulations (GDPR)

Why do we process personal data?

Your personal data is processed by BCBeijum for the following purposes and legal grounds:

  • administration of BCBeijum membership records
  • participation in BCBeijum activities
  • sending newsletters and invitations (with the consent of the person concerned)
  • building the club’s history/archive

What personal data do we use?

  • Personal identity data: gender, name, first name, address, telephone number, email, bank account number (IBAN)

We use the collected data only for the purposes for which we obtained it.

Who processes and/or uses the personal data

  • The board
  • Trainers
  • Membership administration
  • Website administrator, administrator of the membership administration application, Badminton Netherlands (the national federation)

Sharing with third parties

The data you give us may be shared with third parties if this is necessary to carry out the purposes described above. For example, we use a website administrator for:

  • preparing (and distributing) newsletters and invitations.

We do not share personal data with any parties with whom we have not concluded a processor agreement. With these parties (processors) we naturally make the necessary arrangements in such agreements to ensure the security of your personal data. Furthermore, we will not pass on the data you have provided to third parties (other parties), unless this is legally required and permitted. An example of this is when the police request (personal) data from us in the context of an investigation. In such a case, we must cooperate and are therefore obliged to hand over this data. We may also share personal data with third parties if you give us (written) permission to do so. You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time, without this affecting the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal.

Minors

We process personal data of minors (persons under 16 years of age) only if written consent has been given by the parent or legal representative.

Retention period

BCBeijum does not retain personal data any longer than is necessary for the purpose for which they were provided, or as required by law. There is a fiscal retention period of 7 years for our membership administration. After 7 years, only name, address, city and email address are retained for the club’s history and/or reunion / anniversary celebrations.

Security of the data

We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unlawful processing; for example, we have taken the following measures:

  • All persons who may access your data on behalf of BCBeijum are bound by confidentiality.
  • We apply a username and password policy on all our systems.
  • We make back-ups of the personal data so it can be restored in the event of physical or technical incidents.
  • Our staff/members are informed about the importance of protecting personal data.

Your rights regarding your data

You have the right to inspect, and the right to correct or delete, the personal data we have received from you. At the top of this privacy statement you can find how to contact us. You can also reach us via the contact page of our website, www.bcbeijum.nl. You may also object (raise objection) to the processing of your personal data (or part of it) by us or by one of our processors. You also have the right to have the data you provided transferred to yourself, or directly to another party at your instruction. We may ask you to identify yourself before we can comply with the above requests.

Changes to the privacy statement

BCBeijum may amend its privacy statement. We will announce any such change on our website. Older versions of our privacy statement are not kept in our archive.
